The Purity Project
A Curriculum For Purity In The Church

The Purity Project is being organized to assist people inside the church in their struggle with sin by encouraging them to develop a deep love for Jesus Christ and a relentless pursuit of holiness.

The goal is to develop a constant teaching curriculum in the local church on purity and assisting the body of Christ to recognize their sin and seek restoration to God and family through the confession of sin, Biblical discipleship, accountability and a loving environment to grow in grace and knowledge.

Our emphasis initially will be warring against sexual immorality due to the affects of pornography in the church.   Inside the church are many who live in habitual sin.  All sin is a form of idolatry.  God tells us “You shall have no other gods before me”.   Any sin we struggle with, fight with, succumb to regularly is an idol.  We as men and women cannot be salt and light to the world if we are bogged down in sexual sin.  Pornography is devastating the body of Christ and it is the 400 pound gorilla in the room.  The stats are overwhelming according to a Barna poll that 68% of evangelical men are involved in pornography demonstrating we (Christians) are struggling with this and other sexual sin and we are too afraid to bring it into the light.  We need to prepare people enslaved to sin to recognize the strength of Jesus Christ to bring their sin into the light and the affected spouses (or persons) to rely on that same strength to give forgiveness just as Christ forgave each of us.

Hebrews 10:22-23 (NIV)

22  let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. 23  Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
